How to use Portex Bivona Tracheostomy Cap?
- Ensure that the patient is stable and that the decision to decannulate has been made based on clinical criteria and appropriate evaluation.
- Remove the tracheostomy tube according to the physician’s orders, being sure to follow the proper sterile technique.
- Select the appropriate size decannulation cap to fit over the end of the tracheostomy tube.
- Place the decannulation cap over the end of the tracheostomy tube, ensuring a secure fit.
- Fasten the strap around the patient’s neck to hold the decannulation cap securely in place.
