- Measure the stoma usinga stoma measuring guidebefore every barrierapplication
- Trace the determined barriersize opening onto the skinbarrier. The skin barriershould fit where the skin andstoma meet. Verify that noskin is showing between the skin barier and the stomato help prevent leakage andskin irritation.
- Using small curvedscissors, carefully cut anopening in the skin barrierto match the pattern. Donot cut beyond the line onthe release liner.
- Remove the release linerfrom the skin barrier .Set aside with adhesivefacing up.
- Close bottom of pouch.
- Carefully lift an edgeof the adhesive and peeldownward, gently pushingthe skin away from theskin barrier. Properlydispose of used pouch andskin barrier. Do not flushdown toilet.
- Clean the skin with wateror with gentle soap asrecommended by yourhealthcare professional.Rinse and dry thoroughly.Do not use oils, powder,lotion, or lotion-type soapson the skin.
