How to use ErgoCap X-Treme Tip?
To activate the metallic spike crown when it is installed in your crutches
- Rotate the lock/unlock system mechanism (Fig 1) in a counterclockwise manner. The metallic spikes will automatically come down from inside the base of the crutch tip.
- To maintain the metallic spikes in this position, rotate the lock/unlock system once more to fully lock the spikes and keep them active.(Fig 2).
- Once the crown is totally out, rotate back the knob to the locked position. ( Counter-Clockwise)
To retract the metallic spike crown and reposition inside the base of the Ergocap X-Treme tip after use
- Rotate the lock/unlock mechanism (Fig 1) counter-clockwise to unlock the fixed position of the spikes.
- With the pressure of your fingers, introduce the metallic spikes inside of the base of the Ergocap X-Treme Terrain tip, and make sure the spikes are completely hidden inside the tip.
- Once the spikes are retracted, maintain pressure on the spikes upward while rotating the lock/unlock mechanism clockwise, to lock into position and keep spikes retracted.
- Make sure that the metallic spiked crown remains in a locked position inside the base of the ErgoCap X-Treme tip,and that the spikes are completely retracted when using indoors.
Plastic Adapter for Canes and Crutches
- Included with your ErgoCap X-Treme tip, you will find a plastic adaptor (Fig 3) for use with non-Ergoactive canes and crutches.
- Simply place the adapter inside the Ergocap tip as shown in the illustration. It will prevent other non-Ergoactive devices from ruining the ErgoCap.
