- How to use Easy Freeze:
– Note details of the date, amount (if necessary), etc. on the bag
– If you only want to fill the Easy Freeze bag with breast milk
– Carefully separate the bag by tearing or cutting along perforated line 1
– Undo the zip-fastener
– Position the Easy Freeze bag over the lower part of the breast shell
– Thread the fastening strip through both eyelets
– Fasten with the fastening strip
– Pump the breast milk, unfasten the bag and remove it from the lower part of the breast shell
– Remove the upper part of the bag by tearing or cutting along perforated line 2
– Open out the folded base of the bag so it will stand by itself
– Gently press on the side of the bag to expel the air
– Zip the bag closed
– Keep the fastening strip to re-use it - Storage of breast milk:
– At room temperature: 6 hours at max. 77 °F (25 °C);
– In the refrigerator: 5 days at max. 39 °F (4 °C);
– In the freezer compartment of the refrigerator (3 °F / -16 °C) 3 – 6 months;
– In the deep-freezer (<0 °F / <-18 °C): 6 – 12 months. - Defrosting breast milk:
– Defrost breast milk slowly by immersing it in warm water or placing it in the fridge. Once it has fully defrosted, it can be warmed to the required temperature. Do not warm it in the microwave. - To warm up breast milk:
– Open the bag briefly.
– Close the bag again carefully, ensuring that the temperature indicator area is not stuck together.
– Stand the bag in water at about 140 °F (60 °C).
– The temperature indicator will start to fade.
– After a few minutes, the temperature indicator will be completely transparent and the breast milk will be at the correct temperature.
– Carefully test the temperature of the breast milk on the inside of your wrist. If it feels lukewarm (99 °F / 37 °C), it is ready to be used. - Note:
– The temperature indicator will remain grey if the breast milk is too warm. If the temperature drops below approx. 90 °F (32 °C), the indicator will turn blue.
– Always check the temperature of the breast milk before giving it to your baby. Only feed lukewarm breast milk (at approx. 99 °F / 37 °C) to your baby to avoid burns.
– Never warm breast milk in the microwave or boiling water. High temperatures will destroy important nutrients and may increase risk of scalding baby.
– Once breast milk has defrosted, do not refreeze. - WARNING:
– To avoid danger of suffocation, keep the freezer bag away from babies and children.
