How to use Valco Hallux Valgus Splint?
- Before applying of the BORT Valco Hallux Valgus splint, open both Velcro closures
- Slip with the big toe into the BORT Valco Hallux Valgus splint. The integrated pad should surround the big toe and be flush with the tip of the toe
- Put the long blue strap around the foot. Fasten the Velcro closure strap in a way that the brace is positioned approx. centrally to the dorsum of the foot
- Now run the short blue strap around the hook near the ball of your foot and fasten it. This strap allows you to adjust the pressure to the big toe
- Additionally the strap can be shifted within the serrated range. The closer the strap is placed to the big toe, the stronger is the pressure to be put onto the big toe
Contraindications:
- Peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD)
- Lymphatic drainage disorders and indistinct soft tissue swellings remote from the applied aid
- Sensory loss and blood flow disorders in the affected body part
- Skin disorders in the treated part of the body
